Matt Haughey on the future of music . He's hoping a musician will go online-only (mp3). I think this is less important than routing around the record companies, as with [Aimee Mann] (whom he points to), but I could be wrong. An interesting Intellectual Property problem.

And prove those copyrights weren't used to monopolize and stifle the distribution of digital music... On Friday, the tide dramatically shifted. Patel, who called both sides "dirty," said that Napster's misguided attempts to build a business using illegally obtained music paled in comparison to what could be massive misuse and heavy-handed tactics by the recording industry.
