Boy, it's hard doing historical research on the Web (e.g. find any news about Moody's Credit Rating-s of EnrOn debt from Jan1'00 to Sept1'01) via Search Engine. GooGle and [All The Web] let you restrict the date range, but only on the "from" end (all searches run through the current date). Alta Vista lets you control both ends, but I suspect their coverage depth.
Also, it's scary how many older documents are either gone completely or moved into for-pay archives (Invisible Content). Heh, sometime's Google's cache gets around that (which makes them ripe for a Copy Right infringement lawsuit). This increases my interest in a Personal Web Archive to cache all articles I blog...
