It used to be "normal" to work for the same employer for decades, and suspicious not to. Then it became acceptable to change jobs periodically. Now many consider anyone who stays with the same company for more than 5 years as slug-like.
I wonder whether marriage is on the same arc? A big barrier is the way childcare is still tied into the Nuclear Family since the Extended Family has disintegrated for so many...
