Half-baked thought Of The Day: if we've pretty much taken care of our basic physical needs for most Americans, and a growing portion of the New Economy is based on wants, desires, entertainment, etc., does it really matter if lots of resources get moved from the New Economy to a [War Economy]? And it seems like a [War Economy] might do a better job of taking care of those "left behind" in the New Economy... (I just started reading [Enders Game] and was reflecting on the Earth Web Book...)
