Tom Hoffman will be giving a talk at OReilly ETech about [Feinstein High School]'s use of Social Software, ZoPe, and eventually OSAF/Chandler for Educating Kids. Typically, progressive schools have employed loose or open-ended forms of evaluation, such as pass/fail or narrative assessment. Today, however, public schools and their students are being held accountable for achievement of standards, often simply measured through high-stakes testing. Here's some interesting discussion from their web about their literacy curriculum.
