Tony Byrne believes that the fragmentation of the Open Source CMS market keeps them from broadening their feature set, relative to commercial offerings. He thinks that the "Plat Form" mentality (vs the "packaged app" model) is bogus. I think he hugely understates the level of customization to make even those core features work in the commercial products. I believe that, once your expectations go above stuff like Atomz Publish, you're really talking about a customizable environment, and you should think in terms of platform (and therefore pick based on an Agile Language and Application Server you want to live with).
