There's been some good writing recently about issues involved with public blogs by corporate employees (even if written in spare time, using personal hosting, etc). Challenges to the Clue Train meme.
Ray Ozzie notes [Josh Allen]'s points about CEO-s paying attention to employee blogs and related [Dont Ask Dont Tell] policies - By suggesting that employee blogs might be "officially sanctioned", or by in some way acknowledging that the corporation benefits from the blog, the company is arguably exposing itself to claims that it is contributorily and/or vicariously liable for any injuries the employee-bloggers cause.
Pierre Omidyar has been facing the issues associated with being founder of a public company yet writing a personal WebLog.
Robert Scoble's been facing it a bit, too.
