Dana Blankenhorn on Tort Reform, David Boies, and his [SCO] (contra-LinuxOS) deal. How else do you explain [SCO]'s latest SEC filings. David Boies' law firm not only gets 20% of any settlement, but 20% of the company, either its equity financings or its sale. This is the kind of deal asbestos and smoking victims sign with class action law firms. This is not the kind of deal a going business signs to pursue a normal business dispute. How disappointing.
