Dave Winer is playing with (hierarchies of) RSS Cate Gory-s. Paolo Valdemarin compares it to Easy News Topics. I'm still interested in the WiKi ideas of a hierarchy (graph, actually) of Wiki Name-s (related across wikis by Inter Wiki Map?)...
RSS-ifying your WikiLog --2003/11/10 21:34 [GMT]
Hi Bill, Have you thought about how to integrate your WikiLog with the RSS world? I admire your [Wiki Blog] concept and it has a lot of pluses. But one thing about normal meat n potatoes blogs I like is that all the content can be put into an RSS feed. Not sure if you can do that with [Wiki Blog]...not sure, be interested in your thoughts.
Regards, Richard Mac Manus
response: I hope you find at least getting the titles to be at least semi-helpful... Since I distinguish bloggish entries from "typical-wiki" pages, I could put the full content of the former into a feed. But I haven't spent the time to look at the issues of escaping HTML in RSS, and I'm a little concerned about performance, unless I do some sort of static rendering... I've also considered the alternative of not even outputting HTML, but rather just the underlying Smart Ascii; but then no Wiki Word links would be visible... So, I guess the conclusion is that I'm thinking about it but very lazy/busy. --Bill Seitz
