Thought Of The Day on Dealing With Terrorism/War On Iraq: we need to find/build latent support among those who are victims of Theocra Cy (the Constituency For Change). WomEn come to mind. Anyone else?
Update: in this Spirit Of America piece, Britt Blaser notes Micah Sifry and I had coffee with [Rodger Desai], who has experience with middle eastern cellular systems and is also excited about [SoA]. Rodger's interested in many intiatiatives, and assisted with the Grameen Bank [Micro Credit] project when he was with Accenture. I asked him how to monetize an Afghani or Iraqi woman's labor (WomEn), and he has what sounds like a practical solution: [Phone Card]-s. Heh. It turns out that you can add value to another person's unique phone card via PayPal. Then the other party can redeem the credits, if the issuer is willing. Rodger suggested that [USAID] might be the agency to redeem phone card credits for real cash.
