I've been a bit disappointed by Jon Stewart lately. The always-slightly annoying side-routines have been unbearable. But last night's Daily Show version of the John Kerry documentary was excellent. (Democratic Party National Convention)
Tonight is the season premiere for Bill Maher! I can already taste the sweet sweet bile...
Update: Maher wasn't much better. I think the challenge is that both are so strongly in the Anybody But Bush party that they don't want to whack on the Dems that much, even where they disagree. (Stewart has made fun of Kerry regularly for his woodenness, but not for his [Old Democrat] positions.) And I think Maher's show was weakened by having Michael Moore, because as the lone whacko Republican member of panel rightly noted, "I think it's great you raise these issues, I just wish you didn't stoop to inaccuracies to support your positions".
