John Thackara on participative street performances as an alternative approach to Urban Design: make a city more attractive/memorable by creating an Experience Economy.
But, similar to his point about grand buildings, what if lots of cities do the same thing? Though this may offer alternatives where creativity could get results that sheer dollars wouldn't. (Though maybe only for awhile.) It smells like Emerg Ence/Flash Mob-s could play a role here. Create an EBay Group Forming process?
Think of things like Philadelphia Pa's support for WiFi - z2004-09-03- Weinberger Phillie Wifi Free Market - as a way to increase Group Forming for the Creative Class. Increasing Returns?
Update: the [Improv Everywhere] team is on the job! In improvisation, "agreement" makes for a far more interesting scene than "argument".
