's for [Good News] led to conclude that [Good News] is - Some stories may sound like bad news, but if the reader can take an immediate action to improve the situation, then it's good news.

(The whole [Good Apples News Service] sounds awfully complicated/expensive. What if you just ran a site that rated postings on the basis of their Good-ness? Though a key tactic is to create a process that outputs stories that lazy outlets can republish without any editing/thinking...)
