I had written some code to communicate with a remote system over UDP sockets. This is part of a batch-processing system written in PyThon. Then it turned out I needed an administrative function, handled through ZoPe, to trigger the same communication. Threw a copy of the PyThon file into the appropriate folder, made an External Method object in ZoPe to call it, and voila. Not sure it qualifies as Loosely Coupled, but it sure is handy.
