[Matt Rand] (Forbes) on WiKi market. With Social Text on the side of pure, transparent text wikis; JotSpot working with wiki databases and applications; and NetoMat offering a real-time Multi Media approach for collaborative Web communication, it's clear that wikis are already beginning to specialize. Those wiki companies that hope to forge their way into the corporate market will need to offer heavy-duty databases, the ability to perform meta-text operations and Real Time collaboration. Because free alternatives are out there, for-profit wiki-makers will have to develop software that is simple but customizable and, perhaps most importantly, they'll probably need to partner with an established player.
