I was reading the TimeMag profile of [Ann Coulter] from a few issues back, when it suddenly hit me that I'd met her back at Cornell University in the 80s. In fact, I think the feckless conservatives in the "cigar-smoking, martini-drinking, oh-I-get-drunk-all-the-time libertarian (libertine would be more accurate and precise) mode," who made her more socially conservative were the guys in my fraternity. And I had periodic chats with professor [Jeremy Rabkin] (we'd gang up on some socialist woman professor I had), whom she thanked in one of her books.
