Interesting Midterm Election results:
wow, it led to Donald Rumsfeld resigning! I wonder who he's going to end up working for?
the JimWebb/[George Allen] contest for Us Senate/[Virgin Ia] could be held up for weeks by a recount. Or not.
Alan Hevesi was re-elected despite his recent scandal involving using state dollars to pay for a driver for his wife. I hadn't realized that opponent [J Christophre Callaghan] had been the one to turn him in to the [Ethics Committee] in the first place (after he received an anonymous tip). Callaghan also called reporters. Within hours, Hevesi's office confirmed the claim that he had failed to reimburse the state for the employee's time. Hevesi, 66, who reported income of $335,065 last year including his salary and three government pensions, offered a quick mea culpa and paid the state almost $83,000.
Eliot Spitzer won for New York State governor, no surprise there.
Update: David Friedman, among other things, points to a recent Cato Institute study suggesting that people with Libertar Ian views make up 15-20% of the population.
Idea Futures markets didn't do very well! Or did they?
