on the trade-offs on putting in the (), vs putting it in a separate ().

Apr'2007: [Thomas Hawk] of [ZooomR] is going the in-the-file approach for his -s.

Aug'2007: is doing some wild stuff. (, , [Light Room], [EXIF])

Oct'2007: [Photo Gallery] includes its -s in uploads.

Nov update: I just had this come up when I got my old Canon back from repair, and the clock was off. First I adjusted the subset that I'd uploaded to , because that's when I discovered it. Then, I adjusted the stuff. But I wonder whether the old/wrong data is stuffed in the original image files themselves, and if I ever have to rebuild the db, things will be wrong again. (Only off by 2 months, so not the end of the world.)
