Jon Udell on the trade-offs on putting Meta Data in the Binary File (Foto Notes), vs putting it in a separate Data Base (IPhoto).
Apr'2007: [Thomas Hawk] of [ZooomR] is going the in-the-file approach for his PhoTo-s.
Aug'2007: Norm Walsh is doing some wild stuff. (RAW, RDF, [Light Room], [EXIF])
Oct'2007: [Photo Gallery] includes its MetaTag-s in FlickR uploads.
Nov update: I just had this come up when I got my old Canon Digital Camera back from repair, and the clock was off. First I adjusted the subset that I'd uploaded to FlickR, because that's when I discovered it. Then, I adjusted the IPhoto stuff. But I wonder whether the old/wrong data is stuffed in the original image files themselves, and if I ever have to rebuild the IPhoto db, things will be wrong again. (Only off by 2 months, so not the end of the world.)
