Practice Fusion will be using GooGle's AdSense to get revenue for its free EMR and [Practice Management] tools.
[Fred Trotter] thinks it's ridiculous to call this a "partnership". He also points at some Open Source EMR/PMR efforts.
[Vince Kuraitis] is also a skeptic, though less frothing. He points to another piece: A Google spokesman says that this is not the long-anticipated major entry into healthcare for the Mountain View, Calif.-based Internet search giant (e.g. Google Health). "This shouldn't be interpreted as a product move on Google's part," says [Brandon Mc Cormick]. "This is not any more (of a business relationship) than we would make for any other mid-size company. What they do is give us keywords that we match advertising to."
Big question: if/when some Google Health home page is launched, will Practice Fusion be on it?
