Jason Calcanis is opting out of Face Book. One of the challenges with posts like this is that everyone (including the writer) tends to get confused over whether the question is:
whether Jason should personally keep using Face Book for it's own value (he notes that there's more noise than signal there)
whether Jason should develop something for Face Book's API (he notes the Walled Garden issue)
whether anyone should keep using Face Book
It might also make sense to compare Face Book with Vo X and Twitt Er. Ways to communicate (mostly 1-way) with a Social Network. Are any of them really open? (Open Social Networking Model)
