I missed the whole discussion about whether Moz Illa should Spin Out Thunder Bird on its own. I'm rather nervous at the thought of Web Mail becoming the dominant flavor of EMail: it's one of those areas where I'm still hooked on my Fat Client. Maybe because I just don't trust the big Oligop Oly of providers, and want to be able to keep local copies? (In reality, I don't keep local copies of my IMAP account. Color me inconsistent. Or does that really speak to having more trust in a Small Co than even Goo Gle?) Some of this perception of lack of fit makes me think that OSAF could have played a role here...
