Michael Mace thinks MobIle Fat Client apps are dead, being replaced by ASP services. He doesn't even mention the GPhone API. He notes

• proliferation of OS variations

• barrier of needing certification from each TelCo (note this isn't an issue for non-Smart Phone devices, e.g. WiFi and potentially Analog Tv Spectrum).

• increased channel cost (and elimination of hardware bundling because of the TelCo-s).

Commenters rightly question how many WebApp/ASP developers are making money.
