Eliot Spitzer got caught arranging a prostitute last month. Federal prosecutors rarely charge clients in Prostitut Ion cases, which are generally seen as state crimes. But the [MannAct], passed by Congress in 1910 to address prostitution, human trafficking and what was viewed at the time as immorality in general, makes it a crime to transport someone between states for the purpose of prostitution. The four defendants charged in the case unsealed last week were all charged with that crime, along with several others. (Spitzer arranged for her to travel from NYC to Washington D C where he was staying. Hmm, who paid that tab?)
He might ask you to do things that ... you might not think were safe. Ewww.
Details on the [FinCEN] system that identified his patterns of cash transactions. (MonEy, War On Drugs)
Mar12: He resigned today.
