Alan Patrick on the true costs of Free Stuff. WhuffIe, Social Networking, Open Source, Crowd Sourcing, CommOns, Enclos Ure. So my contentious contention is this - Open Source software creation is the "edge" of the [Edge Economy], but it is marginal economics - ie it is driven by people operating at way below sustainable economic cost if they wish to eat, live and reproduce.
