Stowe Boyd on whether the end of Cheap Oil will be the end of the Edge City.
For people Commut Ing from the SubUrb-s into a city, being able to live in an Urban Village near Mass Transit would be good. But if everyone wants a big house with a big lawn, I can't see that scaling. You'd need [Row House]-s and Small Park-s to become more accepted, I think.
For people Commut Ing from SubUrb to [Office Park], argh I don't have an answer. Maybe return to Company Town, where BigCo puts [HQ] in the boonies, while putting in place Urban Village ZonIng in the area? Maybe we just hasten the death of the BigCo?
