(2021-09-30) The Sims Creator Is Releasing An Nft Game That Plays On Your Subconscious
‘The Sims’ Creator Is Releasing an NFT Game That Plays on Your Subconscious. Proxi will let users own their memory creations as NFTs, and even profit from the sale of user-created items within the game. According to Bloomberg, “virtually everything” in the game can take the form of an NFT that can be resold to other users.
“I've always considered the community and their efforts an integral part of my games’ experience,” said Will Wright, in a release. “With Forte’s blockchain platform, we now have a secure way to integrate and reward the community’s contributions.”
Initial starter packs of NFT collectibles are available today at $10 or $50 apiece, based on the contents within.
Creator of The Sims Makes Game Called Proxi Using NFTs - Play to Earn
This Wednesday Gallium Studios already did a presale, selling two NFT packs for this mobile game. Each pack contained a mix of in-game items and collectibles. Interesting is that Wright and his game studio will use Forte for this project
Assets someone uses in their dreams, will be NFTs. Content creators will get credit for their efforts, even though Wright didn’t go into much detail. However, the community will be co-creators to the game.
On a very philosophical level the game allows its players to combine feelings, people, activities, objects, time and locations into an virtual memory. Then different types of memories combined become like a virtual world, and ultimately a memory world becomes a virtual representation of a mind. This mind is what Wright calls a Proxi, and Proxis can interact with other Proxis. So your AI self can talk to other AIs, both real and fictional.
Aug22'2022: Will Wright’s Gallium Studios raises $6M to build memory game Proxi. Gallium’s first projects include VoxVerse, which Wright helped design for Gala Games, and Proxi, a memory simulation game. Both use the blockchain tech in some way. The financing was provided by Griffin Gaming Partners, one of the world’s largest venture funds specializing in gaming.
Oct20'2022: Wright’s project is called VoxVerse. It is a virtual world set on a massive cube, where players should be able to own land, create attractions, mine for resources and socialize (release date TBD)... Design for VoxVerse is happening at Gallium Games, a blockchain-focused startup co-founded by Wright and Carmen Sandiego co-creator Lauren Elliott, who first shipped a game with Wright in 1984. Actual production of the game is happening at Unity. And the project is being orchestrated by crypto gaming boosters Gala Games, which has spent over $25 million funding the effort. Gala wants Wright’s game to help popularize its Vox characters, which are digital collectibles, or NFTs.
- “I don't really want to be in the business of selling NFTs,” Wright said, emphasizing that his interest is in blockchain’s ability to allow for secure transactions between players.
