There are a variety of GUI apps that support it, e.g. TaskPaper, and there's a chrome extension

not crazy about it

• there are "projects", which are like tags used for filtering, but you don't write them as headers for lists of tasks
• there's no nesting, just 1 big flat list
• maybe org-mode is the answer?
