BlogWeb thought Of The Day... I'm thinking that RSS isn't really "meant" to be consumed by simple aggregator tools (subscribe to some channels, see new blurbs all lumped together). It's really meant to be processed in a richer way by big tools. Which makes it ironic that BlogDex and DayPop don't use it.

Russ Lipton covers similar territory [within](http://radio.weblogs.com/0100059/stories/2002/02/25/whatIsPublish And Subscribe.html) his Publish And Subscribe essay. I think he understates the "information management" challenge of managing hundreds of subscriptions. Though I bet you could do some really crude work that would give semi-satisfying results.
