Dave Winer gives a sneak peek at the future of Radio Userland: Some people (myself included) think that Radio is just the thing for (here's a surprise) instant communication in workgroups, beyond weblogs... I have an idea that takes instant messaging and makes it very powerful, in the same way the spreadsheet took the idea of a calculator and gave it dimension. For that I must have a platform to target that runs on the user's desktop. Must have.
This reminds me of my recommendation (inspired by Dave, when Microsoft announced they wouldn't ship Java with WinXP) that hardware makers use some of that nearly-free disk space to Bundle Many Runtimes: Java, Perl, Python, etc.)
Also note that the Morpheus2 client, which is based on REBOL (and thus includes that runtime), is due out in a couple weeks. Which could mean lots of REBOL runtimes out there.
