Excellent David Rogers pieces on Choosing and Distractions. I wouldn't say to anyone they need to choose to pursue lesser dreams, I would say they need to be clearer on where those dreams are intended to take them. Sometimes, what we want isn't really what we're after; and therefore its achievement is irrelevant to our goal. If we're clear on our goals, then different choices may become available to us, not lesser ones. I think if you're clear on what your goal is, and it isn't something utterly beyond the realm of the achievable, then you'll find away to overcome the barriers that appear in your path. And Something I have found is that there is usually an abundance of information available to you that can help you live your life in a fashion approaching your own will, if you can just pay attention. What are the barriers to paying attention to that information? For simplicity, we'll call them distractions, but what are they?... It's probably worth everyone's while to kind of make an inventory of what it is they pay attention to, and how they use the information gleaned therefrom. Next, consider the reason why you feel it's important to pay attention to those matters, what makes you beieve it's important? Then examine how all of that relates to achieving your goals in life, or how it increases your overall Happiness. (Personal Development)
