Details on the economics of $35K/year colleges. Out of the $1,100 a week, the equivalent of 10 percent to 15 percent usually goes to compensate professors... A $35,000 school often spends $70,000 or more per student. At Tufts, only 42 percent of its $410 million total revenue comes from tuition and fees; the rest is funded by government grants and contracts, endowment income, and a variety of other sources. The bullshit classes attended by the writer (Patrick Healy, an alum) certainly don't communicate any value at all. (Tufts is the alma mater of Andy Fastow, by the way.)
