Aaron Swartz and Rael Dornfest are playing with Spring Desktop. It's a blank (or colourful - your choice) canvas on which to collect things: people, places, and other assorted objects. The magic is in the actions. Ctrl-click an object and you can mail it, map it, buy it, and so forth. Drag between two objects and you're presented with options regarding how you want to relate them. Too bad (for me) it's Mac-only.
