(2003-01-28) Steven Johnson On Sim City

Steven Johnson on the stagnation of SimCity. I get the sense from this release that they don't really have anyone on the team developing the game who is actually interested in urban theory (Urban Design), the way Wright was when he developed the original one. So the graphics seem like they got a lot of attention, but there's no way to, say, build a New Urbanism community, or experiment with different kinds of energy and ReCycling models, etc. We need an Open Source version... (hmm, the OLPC version?)
