(2003-08-19) Server Monitoring Buddies Lazyweb

Here's a LazyWeb idea: Server Monitoring software which builds in the notion of a Buddy System: you monitor someone else's servers, and they monitor yours. The software wouldn't have to automate the matching process, that could happen via a central marketplace (though maybe that's a bad idea). So your system would monitor someone else, plus their system that's monitoring you so you know you're getting Tit For Tat. I bet Twisted Matrix would be pretty good for this, given its network-central model.
