(2003-09-02) Macmanus Microcontent Wiki

Richard Mac Manus coins the MicroContent Wiki concept, which seems mainly to be a Blog Thread concept of making it easy to track discussion threads. The key questions seem to be:

• where's the best place to respond directly to a posting? In the Comments are of the original posting? Or on your own site?

  • there is some logic to doing it on the original site, but that requires that everyone have a dynamic server or subscribe to a comment server - and boy am I tired of waiting for services like rateyourmusic.com which seem to just slow down the BlogWeb...

  • Track Back still holds out promise for people, it's just a pain in the butt. And the original post author, again, need a dynamic way to pull in the trackback list.

• how is everyone supposed to track that thread of Group Discussion? (MacManus says preferably via an RssAggregator/Universal Inbox, since that's there you're tracking the flow of individual blog postings.)
