(2004-01-23) Sippey Salesforce Fat Client

Michael Sippey on SalesforceCom's integration into MsOffice as a Fat Client. Sort of a Universal Toolbox model, the former macro writer who can now leverage their VisualBasic skills to integrate data (through Web Services inside and outside the firewall) into their everyday working environment. I can't help but wonder how many people that applies to, and whether it's really "necessary", versus the maintenance nightmare when someone else inherits that jobs (Buy Build Avoid).
