(2004-03-18) Pluto Sedna Planet Definition

The discovery of Sedna will force the clarification of whether Pluto Is A planet (vs a planetoid). More Meta Data issues :)

Aug'2005 - not settled yet... I guess we'll leave it to the Tagsonomy...

Aug'2006 - it's "finally" settled - Pluto gets demoted to Dwarf Planet status. I'm not clear on where Sedna stands - definitely not as a planet...

Uh-oh, someone needs to re-do the Wiki Junior book on the Solar System!

Jun'2008: now they're calling this whole category "plutoids". Plutoids will be defined as celestial bodies in orbit around the Sun farther away than Neptune. Wow that sounds pretty weak. The two known and named plutoids are Pluto and Eris, but astronomers expect to find more. Another dwarf planet, Ceres, does not merit the plutoid designation because it is in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
