(2004-06-11) All Roads Lead To Herbie

So I'm driving, listening to Psychefunkajazzadelic (v2), and enjoying US3's Cantaloop/Flip Fantasia. Did you know this was taken from Cantaloupe Island, recorded by (and composed by) Herbie Hancock in the 60s? And that he was born in 1940, played a solo with the Chicago Symphony at age 11, and had his first lead record deal at 22? (And he now does infomercials for Bose.)

And the next cut on that v2 album is Chameleon (performed by Urbinator), which I associate with Maynard Ferguson from my Band-Geek days, but it was also originally from Herbie Hancock?
