Cities are creating their own operations to offer Broad Band (Municipal Net) to their citizens. Is fiber (FTTH) really necessary? 90% of people are going to be satisfied, at least for now, with Always On medium-bandwidth. The Utah group they mention seems to be spending $2000 per person!
