(2005-06-23) Dyson Vacuum Design

Time for a James Dyson page re Design.

Phil Jones posted a link to a transcript of a Dyson speech from Sept'2004 (including some rationalization of his Off Shoring). It's mostly about the importance of Engineering and Manufactur Ing for Economic Development.

But this reminded me that I recall noticing that his vacuums weren't very well rated by Consumer Reports (which I consulted before buying my last Vacuum Cleaner). So I posted a comment on Phil's site, which someone has added their personal experience to (plus a link confirming that they don't do well in reliability).
