(2005-06-30) City Project

Through research, advocacy, education and technical assistance, we (the City Project) try to ensure that New York City's budget, tax and fiscal policies are fair and meet the diverse needs of low and moderate income residents and communities, and create the highest possible Quality Of Life in the city.

Nobel Prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz and other experts assert that cuts in government spending for public services are more harmful during a local recession than targeted tax increases on high-income households.

They also provide " Budget Basics and Beyond: A Community Guide to Understanding New York City's Budget"
