(2006-05-09) Weld Libertarian Nominee

William Weld got the Libertarian Party nomination for Governor (Nys Candidates 2006). New York's 30-year-old Libertarian Party has just 798 enrolled members statewide. The party that pushes individual rights doesn't have an automatic space on the ballot this fall because it didn't attract the minimum 50,000 votes in the last governor's race. Of the nearly 4.7 million votes in the last governor's race, the Libertarian vote was 5,000.
