(2006-08-24) Macmanus Meme Track Collab Filter

Richard Mac Manus on the state of Collaborative Filtering among the Meme Tracker services: generating a personal view of the web for each and every person is computationally expensive and thus does not scale, at all. Maybe part of that could be done on the local machine, using the user's cycles. (Fat Client, or background Grid Computing).

On my BlogWeb page I ponder whether there's really much point in going to all this effort.
