(2006-08-25) Considering New Glasses
I lost my EyeGlasses last week on vacation, and bought a new pair in a rush (LensCrafters had my prescription in their computer from when I got some sunglasses a few months ago. They said it's "not legal" to read the prescription off glasses now - true?). They smell a little too Church Lady-ish. Luckily LensCrafters has a 30-day free guarantee. I've got a couple black frames I'm considering. FlickR:EyeGlasses. http://static.flickr.com/87/224421474_ad6c07967e_t.jpg
Went with the slightly more conservative RayBans. The more squared-off set looked like I was trying too hard, plus they didn't seem to be as well made.
LensCrafters gets major kudos on having a free trade-in program. They gave me no push-back at all.
- the woman did originally say the new glasses would have to be done at a lab and take 2 weeks, then when I went along with that, it turned out they could be done in-house in a couple hours. Probably it was just a mis-understanding, but I'm writing it here in cases other people get the same experience, then that would imply it's a lie...
