Tim Bray is looking at compact-yet-high-end Digital Camera-s. He's kinda leaning toward the Canon A710IS. He also notes that RAW support is dropping, presumably because the makers want to reserve that for DSLR-s. He also sees 7Mpixels as better than 10 at this point.
