Back in 2001 EBay experimented with printing some of their auction items in newspaper Classified Ads sections.

In 2005 they launched their Ki Jiji international Classified Ads network.

In Jul'2007 they opened that up to 220 US cities.

In Aug'2007 they launched Gum Tree, a Classified Ads site targets immigrants in the US.

(They still own 25% of Craigs List.)
