(2007-10-31) Cascio Climate Strategies

Jamais Cascio gives a broad summary of strategies for dealing with Climate Change/Global Warming. So, can we solve the climate crisis? I think that the evidence is clear that we can, and that we actually have a wealth of potential strategies to do so. My preferred strategy would be a StabilizationWedges-style approach that emphasizes rapidly-evolving and readily-replaceable technologies, along with spot efforts to mitigate the early signs of climate disaster. At the same time, more robust mitigation techniques (involving Bio Engineering) and programs for GeoEngineering should be under controlled laboratory study, so that we can deploy them if needed.
