(2007-11-13) Nygard Gigaspaces
Michael Nygard likes Giga Spaces. Anyone who's heard me speak knows that I adore TupleSpace-s. Giga Spaces is a tuple-space in the same way that Tib Co is a PubSub Messaging system. That is to say, the foundation is a tuple-space, but they've added high-level capabilities based on their core transport mechanism. So, they now have a Distributed Caching system... Just this week, they announced that their entire stack is free for Start Up-s. (Interesting twist: most companies offer the free stuff to open-source projects.) They'll only start charging you money when you get over $5M in revenue.

Geva Perry of Giga Spaces comments: We do not charge participants of the program when they reach $5 million in revenues. $5 million is only the cut-off point for who qualifies to the program in the first place. If you sign up when you are less than that in sales, the license is perpetual, regardless of revenues.

They [have](http://www.gigaspaces.com/wiki/display/GS6/Building+Your+First+Giga Spaces-EC2+Application) docs on running in Amazon EC2.
Is this Java-only? Looks like "mostly", though you can use DotNet.
