(2008-06-29) Open Twitter Email List

Thought of a super-low-tech approach to an Open Twitter: just give each person their own Email List, which only they (as owner/admin) can post to.

To post an update, you just email your list.

You want to "follow" someone, you just sign up for their list.

For an @ reply, you just mention that person in the email.

For a direct message, you just email them directly!

Stream of your updates: RSS feed of your list.

• Google Groups has an "announcements" style list feature that you can create your own list for.

Of course, this isn't technically limited to 140chars.
