(2008-11-20) Weighted Music Keyboard

The Boys have been studying piano for a couple years with a Yamaha electronic Keyboard (DGX-203). It's touch-sensitive, and the sound is good, but the keys aren't really weighted. We're considering getting something that feels a little closer to an acoustic.

I think we're willing to give up most of the other voices (would like to still have some standard keyboard voices, like organ, FenderRhodes, etc. but would give up the others) and all the other electronic features.

The Yamaha YPG-635 runs $800 and [seems](http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/Content Detail/Model Series Detail/0,,CNTID%25253D5015193%252526CTID%25253D205200,00.html) reasonable, but still in the table-top family.

Sam Ash sells a lot of the YDP-223 ($1600) and YDP-140 ($1000) digital pianos, which have the built-in 3-pedal foot, etc.

Conclusion: no big purchase like this until our finances are more in-order.
